A 1C analyst is a specialist who translates business needs into the language of the 1C platform: they gather requirements, design customizations, write technical specifications for developers and verify the result. It is one of the most in-demand roles at the intersection of IT and accounting in Russian companies.
What a 1C analyst does
An analyst's typical day is meetings with accounting, HR and management, working out "how the process works now", describing "how it should work" and assigning tasks to the team. The analyst knows the standard configurations (1C:Accounting, ZUP, ERP, UT) at the level of a confident power user and methodologist, and understands what is realistic to customize and what is cheaper to solve with settings.
Skills you need
- knowledge of standard 1C configurations and the domain (accounting, HR, trade);
- gathering and formalizing requirements, writing specifications;
- basics of the query language and 1C metadata structure;
- the ability to talk both to an accountant and to a developer.
How much they earn
Salary ranges depend on region and experience: juniors start from 60–80 thousand rubles, specialists with 2–3 years of experience earn 120–180 thousand, and lead analysts on large ERP implementations make 200 thousand and more.
