Cookie Policy

Version of 30 August 2026. This page is part of the Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They help remember your settings (for example, language), count visits and understand how users interact with pages. Cookies themselves do not contain your name or contact details, but the identifiers in them make it possible to tell one browser from another.

Types of cookies on the site

  1. Essential. Keep the site working: interface language, remembering your cookie decision, admin login for editorial staff. They work without consent because the site does not function correctly without them.
  2. Analytics. Set by Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica. They count visits, traffic sources, course card views and affiliate link clicks. Yandex Metrica runs with Webvisor enabled, which records cursor movements, scrolling and clicks to analyse the site's usability. Set only with your consent.
  3. Affiliate click-tracking cookies. Our site does not set affiliate cookies. However, after you follow an affiliate link (via the /go/ redirector), the affiliate network or the school sets cookies on its own domain to attribute a purchase to the click from our site. This happens outside educompasshub.com and is governed by the network's and the school's policies.

How to manage cookies

The consent banner on the site

On your first visit the site shows a banner with a choice: accept analytics cookies or decline them. Your choice is stored in the ec_consent cookie. To change your decision, delete that cookie in your browser — the banner will appear again on your next visit. If the banner is temporarily disabled on the site, analytics runs in the mode described in the Privacy Policy, and you can opt out using your browser.

Browser settings

Every modern browser lets you view, delete and block cookies — for all sites or for specific domains:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Yandex Browser: Settings → Websites → Advanced site settings → Cookies.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Opting out at the service level

  • Google Analytics — the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
  • Yandex Metrica — the "Yandex Metrica Blocker" extension (yandex.ru/support/metrica/general/opt-out.html).

What happens if you decline

  • Declining analytics cookies does not limit access to the site: the catalogue, rankings, articles and links to schools work in full. We simply will not see your visit in our statistics.
  • Blocking essential cookies means the site will not remember your chosen language (the Russian version will be shown on every visit until you switch again) and the cookie banner will be shown repeatedly.
  • Blocking affiliate cookies on the schools' side does not change the course price for you; it only prevents the school from attributing the visit to our site.

Updates

We update this page whenever the set of cookies, analytics services or legal requirements change. The date of the current version is shown at the top of the page. Questions — via Contacts.
