Terms of Use

1. Definitions

  • Site — educompasshub.com and all its pages, including the Russian and English versions.
  • Operator — the owner of the Site, whose details are given below.
  • User — any person using the Site.
  • School — an educational organisation or sole proprietor whose courses are listed in the Site's catalogue.
  • Materials — texts, scores, rankings, images, data structure and program code of the Site.

2. Status of the service

EduCompass Hub is an independent information aggregator and comparison service for online courses. The Operator:

  • is not an educational organisation and does not provide educational services;
  • is not a seller of courses, nor an agent or representative of Schools; it does not accept payment for training and does not issue educational documents;
  • is not a party to the contract between the User and a School. All obligations regarding training, payment, refunds and issuing documents rest with the School under its own offer agreement.

Some links on the Site are affiliate links: when you click through and make a purchase, the Operator may receive a fee from the School. This does not affect scores or the order of courses; see the Affiliate Links page for details.

3. Data accuracy and liability

  • Course information (prices, durations, programmes, documents, instalment and employment terms) is collected from the Schools' public sources as of the check date. The price check date is shown on the course page. Schools change their terms and run promotions, so you must verify the current price and terms on the School's website before buying.
  • Compass Score and reviews are the Operator's editorial opinion based on the published methodology. The score is not a guarantee of learning outcomes, employment or income.
  • Materials are provided "as is". The Operator makes reasonable efforts to keep data accurate but does not guarantee the absence of errors and is not liable for losses arising from discrepancies between Site data and a School's actual terms, for the quality of training, for the actions of Schools and affiliate networks, or for the content of external websites.
  • The Operator is not liable for interruptions in the Site's operation for technical reasons.
  • If you find an error, report it via Contacts — we will verify and correct the data.

4. Intellectual property

  • The Site's Materials — reviews, course and profession descriptions, rankings, methodology, catalogue structure, design, logo and code — belong to the Operator and are protected by intellectual property law.
  • Names, logos and trademarks of Schools belong to their respective owners and are used on the Site solely to identify courses for information purposes. The Operator claims no affiliation with Schools and does not act on their behalf.
  • Permitted: quoting Materials to the extent justified by the purpose, with attribution and an active link to the Site page; linking to Site pages.
  • Prohibited without the Operator's written permission: copying, reprinting and reworking Materials, reproducing rankings and scores on other resources, using Materials to build competing catalogues and databases.

5. Acceptable use

The User agrees not to take actions that disrupt the Site or infringe the rights of third parties. In particular, the following is prohibited:

  • automated data collection (scraping, parsing) without the Operator's written permission, except indexing by search engines under the rules in robots.txt;
  • mass automated requests that load the Site, and circumvention of technical restrictions;
  • embedding the Site or its parts in frames on third-party resources, substituting or distorting Materials;
  • using the /go/ redirector to inflate clicks, generate incentivised traffic or otherwise manipulate affiliate programmes;
  • attempts to gain unauthorised access to the admin area, database and accounts;
  • using the Site to send spam, distribute malicious code or mislead other Users.

The Operator may restrict access to the Site for sources that violate these rules.

6. Reviews and user content

  • User reviews are being introduced in stages; until the feature launches, the Site publishes graduate interviews and editorial checks. The rules for reviews are on the Review Publication Rules page.
  • By posting a review or other content, the User confirms that they are its author, that the content is based on real experience and does not infringe third-party rights, and grants the Operator a free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, edit (spelling and formatting only) and display it on the Site without limitation in time or territory.
  • The Operator may decline to publish, edit or remove content that violates the rules without giving reasons, and may remove a review at the author's request.
  • The author is responsible for the content of their review. The Operator does not verify every statement in reviews but responds to substantiated complaints from Schools and Users.

7. Personal data and cookies

Processing of User data is governed by the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which form an integral part of these Terms.

8. Advertising

Advertising placements on the Site are labelled in accordance with the Russian Advertising Act (the Russian-language "Advertising" label, advertiser, erid). Editorial materials and uniform catalogue cards are not advertising. See the Editorial Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

The Operator may amend these Terms. A new version takes effect upon publication on the Site unless stated otherwise; the version date is shown at the top of the page. Continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of them. Material changes are announced on the Site.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. The parties will seek to resolve disputes relating to the use of the Site by negotiation via the Operator's contacts; a claim is answered within 10 business days. If no agreement is reached, the dispute is referred to the court at the Operator's location in accordance with Russian law. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
